To what extent does the advertising industry control what we see
on television? What is the political and cultural environment
that provides for the phenomenon of the corporate shaping of the
mass media? Robin Andersen addresses these questions, which
ultimately intertwine with the very concept of democracy.

Robin Andersen is a writer and associate professor of Media
Studies at Fordham University.
