The "original" problem, Jim J says, was the reformism of the
pre-war (WW1) party leaders. No. No. No. The "original" problem was
the social forces that created parties with reformist leaders, that
led to the degeneration of the SPD. Reformist leaders do not drop
from Heaven; ideas do not precede practice. That is what I mean in
a separate post when I say it is very difficult to be a materialist.
Certainly Jim does not want to be an idealist, but his analysis is
just that, idealist: it sees ideas as independent and the ultimate
source of world history.
