The funneling of more into the job market is not merely a matter of
creating work. Forms of human activity that were previously perform gratis
can now be bought and sold on the market. One possible interpretation of
the US solution to the crisis of work and technology is increasing
commodification of human activity. I recall recently an entry in the
Harpers Index I believe which documents this: 15 years ago tourism was a
negligible factor in the economies of differents states within the US; now
it has become the major factor. Do the economic statistics show such a
change?
