Reconstruction of JSP (2)

In my post dated 10/2, I wrote many left socialist party members
have begun to move to build a new socialist party.
Shortly I add here the recent development.

1. The dissolvation of the socialist party is much delayed.
Union leaders wanted to pull out Yokomichi (former governor of
Hokkaido) to chair the 'new democratic liberal party'. But
Yokomichi is hesitating, because mainstream of JSP proposes building
a collective leadership with Murayama, Doi, Yokomichi and a leader
of Sakigake (a liberal consevative party). General secretary Kubo
admitted the too slow pace of collecting signitures of party members
to join the new party and warned JSP would fail to found a new party.
(good!)
At the same time, it becomes difficult for left to split the party
at best timing. If right-wing split the party, we will stay in
JSP.

2. Three district HQ of JSP decided to oppose the dissolvation.
Those are Okinawa, Hiroshima and Shimane. It is important that
Okinawa and Hiroshima are opposite to the dissolvation because
these two HQ lead the peace movement in Japan. You will see that
mass movement against ANPO is mostly organized by Okinawa HQ of
JSP. A 50,000 scale of meeting is planned to be held on 10/21
(the international anti-war day) in Okinawa. Atom bombed Hiroshima
is also important. The recent spead-out of anti nuclear test movement
encouraged Horoshima JSP. In other districts (= prefectures),
it has been begun to organize party members to preparation of the
new socialist party, for example, our comrades have already
organized more than 600 members in Chiba district. So we would
have 20,000-30,000 members from whole JSP, if the split could be
done just in time, in my own expectation.

3. What type of party will we build, if we must split JSP?
It would be named something socialist party. It would start
from non-programme situation. But it is inevitable it gets
a character of a mass working class party.
1) expected members are mostly union activists who have
certain influence in union and at workplace through their
daily struggles.
2) they mostly support a socialist revolution strategy,
though there are diffrences in understandings.

I will continue to update info about this.
