MIM

Back to MIM's subsumption of class conflict within imperialist countries--

MIM, white is the color of the collar, not the skin. Are you writing white
or white collar people off? At any rate, I am forwarding this post from
the progressive economists;though the post was on the impact of the fed's
policies, it speaks to how class, not race (or national oppression), is the
critical factor. By the way, for an incisive critique of social democratic
chauvinism, see Alan Freeman's splendid review of Mel Leiman's Political
Economy of Racism in the Spring 1995 issue of Capital and Class. --Rakesh

The following post is from Eugene Coyle:

Greenspan not only has the power to kill people but he does kill people.
The Wall Street Journal, 6/15/95 carried a story headlined
"Poverty, Not Race, is Critical Factor in Domestic Homicides, Study Finds"
The article reports on a study published in that week's Journal
of the American Medical Association found that the "sixfold difference
in black and white rates of domestic homicide disappeared when
"household crowding" was used as a measure of socioeconomic status. The
entire issue of the mediacl journal was devoted to violence in America."
Can there be any doubt that Greenspan, et. al. -- and I mean
"et. al. " very broadly -- have created a society which tolerates
enormous poverty. And justifies that poverty on the grounds that we
are at full employment and in desparate danger of "overheating?"
I think that is murderous. Gene Coyle
