In my view, an excellent work on Marx's concept of alienation, it's
relationship to Hegel's philosophy, and its relation to struggles of the
post-WWII period
in the U.S,, is
Raya Dunayevskaya, _Marxism and Freedom: From 1776 until today_. The latest
edition is from Columbia Univ. Press, 1988.
Bertell Ollman's _Alienation_ is also very interesting. Bertell doesn't hold
all the same positions now, though. Sorry for not having the full reference
at my fingertips.
