Yes, chaos theory "deserves examination." It can also present an
alternative vision to neoclassical economic theory. I'm sure all,
including Paul C. and Steve K., would agree. The question, though, isn't
whether we can further our critique of neoclassical economic theory since
the basics of that theory were demolished intellectually over 35 years
ago. The question is rather whether this type of modelling can allow us
to better understand the dynamics of capitalism. Fancy mathematical
models can be elegant and produce astonishing graphic results but tell us
little, if anything, about capitalist accumulation.
