Re: Sorry, Folks!

I agree with Jerry. Doug should recognize an apology for an apology and then
proceed with an exposition of his political views on Bosnia, hopefully
leaving aside
personal characterizations in favor of the content of the politics. We are,
after all, concerning ourselves with a struggle in which tens of thousands
have died, and millions have been displaced, perhaps permanently.

For instance I don't think I am a "multi-culturalist" whatever that may be,
or a "third camper"; I defended the USSR from around 1957 until it
disappeared; I actively opposed the Gulf War; I am a member of two unions and
believe in the class struggle, and: I am for UN military intervention in
Bosnia.

No one has yet answered the arguments I have put forward. I will restated
three such arguments and ask for responses:

(1) Considering the overwhelming evidence of ethnic cleansing and that this
ethnic cleansing is primarily coming from the Serb side, how do those who
oppose UN military intervention plan to stop this process?

(2) If it is permissible to demand that the capitalist state provide social
benefits and enforce the law against those who pollute the environment,
employers of child labor, perpetrators of involuntary servitude, etc., why
is it wrong to demand that the capitalist state use its might to prevent
ethnic cleansing in Bosnia?

(3) If UN intervention into Bosnia can only serve imperialist purposes why
is it that the imperialists oppose UN intervention?
