My experience is that for useful political
work by communist academics two things
are necessary:

1. In all political activity break entirely
   with the university/academic context and
   involve yourself with the most extreeme
   activists from the lower semi-criminalised
   sections of the working class. These are
   the people with the least fear of authority
   and the best fighting spirit.
2. Help select issues where the balance of social
   forces favours you and you have a good chance
   of victory if you show the spirit of daring
   to struggle.
