My sincere apologies to han and Greeman. I should explain why I can be so
nasty at times. You see, I'm not a human being but a puff adder that's
learned to type.

All kidding aside, I guess there's something that can be learned about
the dynamics of the discussion on this list by this recent experience. If
Richard had sort of "eased in" to the discussion, maybe the sparks
wouldn't have flown. But there was no way I suppose he could have
anticipated the kind of reaction he got. If I knew beforehand that he
wrote for Z, Against the Current, worked with Boris Kargalitsky, one of
my favorite people in the whole world, then I wouldn't have gone into my
"take no prisoners" mode. The problem is that this list is composed of
perspectives that just don't differ from each others, but CLASH. I guess
we (I, most especially) have to learn how to work out these differences in a
comradely way.

han's comments are really inspiring to me. This willingness to learn from
others is something that the boneheads of my generation could never
figure out.

And to Jon, sometimes I can overdo it, I know. I apologize for "ageist"
implications in anything I said. If I had 1/10th the wisdom you have at
the age of 23 (or whatever it is), the world would be in much better
shape today.
