I guess it means that I identify my interests with yours because we are
both human beings. I think you ask a valid question, though. What about
class-identity? ... national-identity? ... religious-identity ... gender-
identity? If we concentrate on "species-identity", then we might tend to
ignore class, national, and gender differentiation.
