Whoops! I just sent a "reply" to a message from Doug Heywood--
who had asked me a question on another list re Marx--and in my
sleepy early morning state, didn't check that the sender was in
fact the marxism list!

I expect I'll rile quite a few people with views expressed there--
but those views  have been expressed here deliberately before, so
that doesn't bother me. But I wasn't attempting to re-open that
debate.
