Interesting...however, i think substituting middle manager for the "peasant
class" is insufficuient for explaining the base of support of the new
right.  rather than looking to middle-management as "the class that can't
represent themesleves" one has to address the role of christian coalition
and southernization of national politics.  gingrich's and gramm's bases are
in the well-heeled and mobilized grass-roots armies of gods and guns.
also, the eighteenth brumaire details a series of inversions in which LB
represents the b--- relinquishing of political power in favor of economic
interest...
