Why is capitalism "defined by the myths of scarcity and meritocracy?" This
seems a rather idealist conception of what capitalism is (to argue that the
"essence" of a social formation is a "myth" seems to grant the last instance to
the realm of ideas, as if by telling different stories we might alter
institutional structures).
