I quite agree with the sender. But the whole picture is actually consi-
derably simpler, for all it takes is some version of an objective pro-
babilistic causality. Once one breaks away from Newtonian presupposi-
tions, this emerges naturally. Of course, it nicely reconciles freedom
and determinism; the relation of struggle in the present and the weight
of history, etc.
