Re: 1900 House
Haven't seen this show, but speaking from experience I can say that one
necessity for getting along in places/times without conveniences is knowing how
to do it. For instance, if one habitually cooks for a large family over a wood
fire, one must know how to light the fire and keep it going, with minimal waste
of wood. This is a skill one must learn, along with countless other day-to-day
skills. So naturally, a modern American family that lacks those skills would
not fare well when dropped into a situation where those skills are needed.
