Are you sure?  My kids are not white, and very few of their friends are.
They all, to the last person, listen intently to nothing but hip-hop/rap.
A lot of it, including the stuff that's beginning to go cross-genre, is
being done by women.  If white kids are dominating sales, I suspect that's
just because they outnumber the rest.

The content is generally not particularly progressive, but it is certainly
no worse than the message from most of the rock I grew up with--albeit a
little looser with the language.
