Please Stop!!!
NO MORE ON YUGOSLAVIA! NO MORE PERSONAL ATTACKS.
NO MORE PERSONAL DEFENSES.
EVERY MAILLIST CAN'T BE EVERYTHING TO EVERYONE!
This miserable series of threads BEGAN with the following post from
Michael Pugliese, who had not before posted to M-Fem, and who
\was not responding to any prior post on m-fem. No one on M-Fem
had ever mentioned emperors-clothes, and there had been no discussion
of Yugoslavia on this list since the end of the u.s. bombing.
I pretty much agree with Beth Goldstein's post on this thread, but I also
believe each subscriber should recognize that it was begun with a deliberate
provocation from the troll Michael Pugliese, who roams the maillists
stirring up trouble.
Mark -- You know I agree with you on Yugoslavia, but please shut up
on this issue. There is a reason many of us belong to a number of
different maillists -- and there is a reason for different maillists having
different titles. I am a lurker on the Bhaskar list, which on the whole is
a pretty technical and academic list. During the U.S. attack on Yugoslavia
one regular contributor to the list defended the US aggression. I, John
Mage, and Yoshie all responded in rage -- but *all* three of us made
it clear that we recognized the topic was not useful for the list's
purposes and we were only responding because another had raised
it. In my initial post on the thread I even suggested that the list
moderator should forbid the topic. The Yugoslav issue was of great
importance -- but it was silly to think it had to be raised on
Martha is out of the country. Malgosia is temporarily tied up. But
we will resume direct moderation if this nonsense doesn't stop.
And if Pugliese ever again fwds a non-relevant post from another
list it will be his last post on m-fem. If he wants to communicate
with Hitchens, he need not use m-fem for that purpose.
I don't know what nonsense is appearing in the posts headed
"Current Discussions," as I haven't opened any of them, but
stop it.
