All this hot air is clearly rooted in the Stalinist positions held by Mark Jones and his consequent turf-defending support for his political buddy. Nothing else. All the psychologizing is quite irrelevant and in fact just adds fuel to the flames.
The tolerance of such intemperate, ill-considered discourse also indicates that huge chunks of the Stalinist legacy are still regarded as good "left" or even God help us Marxist credentials among some non-revolutionary, non-working-class radicals.
Nice to know that M-Fem is more tolerant now ;-). Might sharpen me pen and pitch in again now I've seen what crap can be peddled by some and got away with. Only I still don't expect a Trotskyist perspective to be given half such a lenient and understanding reception as Jones's anti-women, anti-revolutionary, anti-working-class ravings.
Revolutionary greetings,
Hugh

No, the nastiness originated with Ms Pollitt's slanders and smears about a third party who was not even on the list at the time; perhaps you should check back a bit further. Or perhaps you just don't think that's a problem? Anyway, I'm still waiting for any kind of acknowledgement that baiting and flaming are out of line on the list.
Once again, it is not "slanders and smears" or"baiting and flaming" to assert that Jared Israel, who is not a feminist and does not claim to be one is, in fact, not a feminist. Given mark's free use of sexist language ('creepy androgynous" friends) I am even more bewildered by his objections. I would think he would consider my calling Jared "no feminist" a compliment! Nor do I think it is slanders etc to identify Jared as the public person he was. I said nothing personal. I said nothing untrue. I used no intemperate, four letter, or violent language. I seem to remember that I also posed concrete and detailed criticisms of Jared's post about supposed gender equality in Serbia, the lack of male hostility toward women there, and the incapacity of Serbian men for sexual violence. Neither Jared or Mark has responded to that -- instead Jared is silent and Mark is full of bluster. I think both silence and bluster testify to the strength of my argument.
