yu can't abolish money without abolishing capitalism, but once commodity
ecxchange, capitalism is abolished there will be no need for money, said
Karl a long time ago........here's what young karl thought of money:
From: "the meaning of human requirements where there is private property and
under socialism"," economic and philosophical manuscripts of 1844" :
"(7) We have seen what significance, given socialism, the wealth (ital) of
human needs has, and what significance, therefore, both a new mode of
production (ital) and a new object (ital) of production have: a new
manifestation of the forces of human (ital) nature and a new enrichment of
human (Ital) nature. Under private property their significance is reversed:
every person speculates on creating a new (ital) need in another, so as to
drive him to a fresh sacrifice, to place him in a new dependence and to
seduce him into a new mode of gratification (ital) and therefore economic
ruin. Each tries to establish over the other an alien (ital) power, so as
thereby to find satisfaction of his own selfish need. The increase in the
quantity of objects is accompanied by an extension of the realm of the alien
powers to which man is subjected, and every new product represents a new
potency (ital) of mutual swindling and mutual plundering. Man becomes ever
poorer as man ; his need for money (ital) becomes ever greater if he wants
to overpower hostile being; and the power of his money (ital) declines
exactly in inverse proportion to the increase in the volume of production:
that is, his neediness grows as the power (ital) of money increases."
bear with me, one more quote from carlo:
from : "the power of money in bourgeois society" E and P manuscripts:
"By possessing the property (ital) of buying everything, by possessing
the property of apprpriating all objects, money (ital) is thus the object
(ital) of eminent possession. The universality of its property (ital) is the
omnipotence of its being.Money is the pimp (ital) between man's need and the
object, between his life and his means of life. But that ( ital) which
mediates my life for me, also mediates (ital) the existence of other people
for me. For me it is the other person.
...........(1) It is the visble divinity- the transformation of all human
and natural properties into their contraries, the universal confounding and
overturning of things: it makes brothers of impossibilities. (2) It is the
common whore, the common pimp of people and nations.
The overturning and confounding of all human and natural qualities, the
fraternization of impossibilities- the divine (ital) power of money - lies
in its character (ital) as men's estranged , alienating and self-disposing
species-nature (ital). Money is the (alienated ability of mankind (ital).
That which i am unable to do as a man(ital), and of which therefore all
my individual powers are incapable, I am able to do by means of money (ital)
. Money thus turns each of these powers into something which in itself it is
not- turns it, that is, into its contrary (ital).
............It transforms fidelity into infidelity, love into hate, hate
into love, virtue into vice, vice into virtue, servant into master, master
into servant, idiocy into intelligence, and intelligence into
idiocy..........."
there's more......
isn't this the USA IN triplicate?
nowhere in the world is a there a more purely capitalistic alienated
CULTURE like marx describes above than the white settler nation aka the USA.
thats why addiction, violence, sociopaths, etc are so rampant in america.
money is not root but the branch and flower of all evil. bob
