Re: Modest proposal to end the war
The posture towards Yugoslavia was developed by the RNC in the Executive
branch and the higher circles in the Senate and institutionalized before
Clinton came to office. Clinton is carrying out the Republican attitude.
Such has been the majority of lower-level Republicans' exclusion from
their own party's posture towards Yugoslavia that Clinton had to call
Republicans into the White House and remind them of their party's policy
in the Balkans. Naive Republicans emerged from the White House with an
almost diametrically opposite position from the one they held when they
went in. This is why some Republicans attack Clinton over the policy (a
political stance) but at the same time use the slogan, "Since we are in,
we have to win," to justify sending in a large-scale ground invasion
force. Had George Bush won in 1992, the United States and NATO would be
occupying Yugoslavia right now. The reason why so many Republicans are
ignorant of their party's attitude towards Serbians is because the
Republican operatives hide the fascist core of the RNC, the Heritage
Clubs, from their members and from the public. Probably on this more than
on any other matter, Clinton has been the RNC's man.
