The point of my post was that mothers are more likely to have a split
loyalty and are therefore more problematic for employers who are seeking a
stable source of superexploitable labor. With women entering the workforce
this creates conditions of gender discrimination (in excess of the gender
discrimination already acknowledged). The problem has become so noticeable
that there is a political movement to give mothers redress when they are
dismissed from work, passed over for promotion, and so forth. Children,
generally children of disfavored racial castes, suffer from this form of
gender discrimination.
