I don't believe this seven year old has an "in-depthA" understanding
of the text, unless the text is so simple a seven year old can
understand it. the Nineteenth century had many "infant prodigies," who
were exhibited by their parents for their ability to do all sorts of
amazing feats.
As to whether an in-depth understanding" puts you in a better position
to criticize the text... sure maybe. but it seems a roundabout way to
go. Is anyone on this list bringing up their kid on laissez-faire
economics so that they'll have an "in-depth understanding" of it and be
in a "better position" to criticize it?
Face it: this kid is being primed for imam-hood just the way Marjo,
the child fundamentalist televangelist, was primed since birth for that.
He may escape, sure (marjo gave up religion for an acting career) -- but
I still see nothing to be "proud of" in his "accomplishment. Surely the
islamic world has better candidates for the genius crown? math, music
prodigies? young people doing fabulous science, writing great poems,
thinking original thoughts? What about that 17 year old Iranian girl
who made that movie,"The Apple"? That seems to me a much bigger
achievement.
ps. marxists who make their kids memorize the C manifesto are similarly
out of their minds. never heard of this, actually.
