US Senate Rejects Anti-Migration Initiative

Washington, Jun 5 (Prensa Latina) The US Senate rejected a Republican
ammendment to deny permanent residence to millions of illegal
immigrants Tuesday.

With a vote of 62 in favour and 31 against, legislators invalidated
the Republican plan to deny the so-called "green card" to immigrants.

Parliamentary sources said that if the ammendment were approved the
reform plan was going right to failure.

The idea proposed by Republican Senator Wayne Allard (Colorado) denied
residence to those without documents favored with the "Z" visa, though
they had the required parameters.

Meanwhile, Republicans and Democrats are still negotiating to make up
the legalization scheme less complicated for millions of illegal
immigrants to the country.

Senators would analyze a proposal by Senator John Conryn to deny
access to legalization to illegal residents who did not obey
deportation orders against them.
