Having been reading through Fred's contribution trying to see what was
offensive about it, I have to agree with George; what Fred wrote is at least
thought provoking. Frankly I find Tim's attacks nauseating, and this time
Mervyn is not much better. This is not Critical Realism as I have
previously experienced it, and it seems to me unworthy of this list.

Hi Mervyn,
I guess what I don't get here is the dismissive tone, along with Tim's
personal attacks. Take him to task, critique his ideas, I'm certainly
trying to raise a few critical issues from my own perspective.
I guess I find the dismissive tone on the hand and the personal innnuendos
on the other hand about what his motivates may be in participating on this
list as implicitly censorious at least in tone as the concerns raised here
in relationship to the Australian incident.
And I don't get what the point of what that type of style is meant to convey
in any event that cannot be better accomplished by a more restrained polemic
that is nonetheless rigorous in its analysis.

Hi Fred,
Extrapolating from this and your other posts, you yourself clearly are,
immanently as well as transcendently, *both* the theorist-practitioner
Nostromo ("our man", the power within and over the people) practicing
transcendence over nature through the instrumentality of her laws,
circumscribed and uncircumscribed, embodying the abstract first principle of
CR as well as of Marxism, *and* the 'mother of all unconsiousnesses', the
hidden dialectical core governing the "real world" we think we inhabit, the
holistic "free agent" and "Nostromo of the cosmos", all of which amounts to
the Vanguard's Way Forward. Say no more.
Mervyn
