Re: BHA: negativity wins
Hi Caroline, you asked:
>How can absences be stratified and structured?
i doubt if i've anything sensible to add after Tobin's marvelous
posting, but, generally speaking, i conceive 'stratified absences'
as refering to interrelated absences on more than one level of a
stratified phenomenon or event, and 'structured absences' as those
opposed to incidental or local absences; an example of the latter,
that sprung into my paranoid mind, is the systematic scanning of
and structured lurking on email-list by corporate and governemental
agencies, without us knowing and noticing (let alone approving) this
- beware, the presence of/on the list is not as it seems it is !
(and, mind you, one doesn't have to be subscriber to listen in)
yours,
jan
