Many thanks for your post. This is the rb/cr/ dcr list, so probably
not the place to pursue other concerns (Adorno/Spinoza etc). For
what it is worth, I do read Ilyenkov to advocate a 'reflection' theory,
but it is not of the sort generally recognised as such. I doubt
Lenin's earlier stuff articulates how such a theory is possible but I
don't know because I haven't read it. Lenin's (Hegelian influenced)
Vol 38 stuff looks great to me and certainly inspired Ilyenkov.
Ilyenkov recounts how Spinoza does indeed overcome the 'problem
of error' that accompanies any identity theory (for Spinoza, an
identity of 'substance').
I wish I had read Adorno; he sounds fascinating.
