Wow, Mervyn, you're really in the thick of it, nobly playing devil's
advocate on behalf of us religious devils.  I totally agree with  you
by the way that one can be religious and still be historical
materialist and all those other things you mention.   It seems to me
too that the kind of Marxism you are contesting shares more than a
bit with religion.
