The World Socialists have become a bit hysterical. The context for
all the bitterness is precisely that there is no real clash of principle
or even interest between the two parties. And when there is no
clash of principle whatever the political battle becomes one simply
of personality and merely personal ambition. The concept of "The
Republican Right" as a force of this magnitude is merely silly.
The proper attitude for the left in this election is just to enjoy it
like an athletic contest between two equally inept teams. It's
just plain fun.
