BHA: conference
Dear all,
I am writing to invite you to attend the forthcoming
Postgradraduate Economics Conference, to be held at Leeds
University on Friday 1st December 2000. The highlight of the
conference, from a CR view point, is a roundtable/plenary
discussion on 'the future of economics'. Tony Lawson will be
participating along with Gilles Raveaud and Olivier Vaury, the
primary leaders and originators of the post-autistic student
movement in France. (The anti-mainstream and pro-realism
economics movement whch has really caught fire in France).
This will be the fifth conference we have held in Leeds. We have a
tradition of producing a programme that includes papers from
across the range of perspectives in economics, and attract an
equally broad audience of students and academics. This year,
given the developments among the student body in France and
beyond, whose central plea is for *realism* in economics, we
thought it would be an ideal opportunity to discuss the future of the
economics discipline. The exciting thing, from the CR point of view,
is that the French students have clearly gained inspiration from key
CR themes (they were anxious that Tony attend).

Best wishes,
Andy
