Hi Michael,
Well theh horse may not be dead yet, but i am certainly flagging. I must
have come over all illiterate for people to be missing such a fundamental
point.
Sorry, to sound so exasperated, but much of what people seem to think i am
commited to I am not. For example, the points you raise at the end:
>
>To repeat a point I made previously: the existence of social,
>ideological entities does not depend on the physical existence
>and demonstrable physical actions of that thing, but on the
>actions of agents who perform the rituals and practices of that
>ideology
Right, let me repeat this. I agree. Again. I agree with this. There are
discourse, prcatices etc. and etc. B****y etc. related to what we call
Santa. But their is no s*****g old white bearded man etc., etc B****y
etc... But you calim santa is real and exists, hence you must by definition
be arguing that there is such and old man. If you don't think there is such
a person, or ever was then please, if you want to refer to the prcatices
etc. B****y etc, surrounding the Santa industry then call them the
parctices Etc, B****y Etc, and not santa. A realist can't simply argue that
when I use a word it means exactly what "I" want it to mean.
Everything you say about the panotican I agree with, but it does suggest
that there is no one there, just as, yes folks, sorry to repeat and
dissapoint all you eager kids out there. There really is no Santa.
I'm not really annoyed just joshing.
Cheers,
P.S. It does make a big difference whether Jesus was the son of god and
countless millions have died over this.
