Hi Loius,
Sorry, maybe I am missing your point. Nixon's assertion that he was not
involved in the break-in, was neither believed by him( he knew it was a
lie), nor true (he was involved). What are lies but false assertions? And
I'm not sure an assertion disconnected from its articulator can be committed
to anything.
