Hi jan,
Welcome, it is always nice to see new contributors to the list. As an old
hand a big worry is hogging the discussion.
The point you raise is a good one. Of course, in one sense in an open world
everything is potentially interconnected, but isn't the essence of the
butterfly effect it's chaotic nature, rather than it's being a necessary
one. Butterfly wings flapping in Hyde park _may_ cause an effect on the
other side of the world, but this again is an example of an external
relation, because they may not have any effect. In effect, what effect they
may have is chaotic.
But yes, Lorenz's theory can be used as an example of 'actiones in distans',
but I can see nothing in CR that might object to this.
