Holloway’s state theory is logically inconsistent and his attempts to distinguish his theory from “traditional Marxism” merely repeat its basic errors. Even if he does not uphold the inevitability of a victorious revolution, thus arguing with the certainty of success for his position, he does not proceed without a negative prognosis for capitalism, which is headed for a (final) crisis. He also wants to refer positively to a “real existing movement,” the movement against “neoliberal globalization,” to confirm the correctness of his views, even if they contradict them.
