Like it or not, the ineffectual passive-aggressive attitude of most "yankee" anarchists is a de facto free pass for Chavez. It's this trap that the essay is warning
specifically against. Even if all this text accomplishes is an outpouring of anti-Chavez anarchist writings, that would be better than just sitting on our hands. What I'd
be more interested in, however are constructive ideas on spreading such views within the most active layers of the Venezuelan proletariat with a mind towards
building more extra-governmental branches (a la MST) in this "Bolivarian" tree. The first step is probably to promote any frequently-updated anti-government media
and analysis in Venezuela.
If Chavez becomes another Castro, then we all will have benefited greatly from having concretely helped the Venezuelan anarchists at this stage to successfully
promote in the mass consciousness the concept of revolution as having to outlive Chavez, both in qualitative struggle and lifespan.
