This is very odd, but I just tried this myself with Safari under OS
X. If you just click on the download link, it plays (through the
quicktime plugin) as it downloads. If you do a control-click
"download linked file as" you get the error message. It does
download, however, if you control-click in Internet Explorer. Must be
a kink in Safari.
