AUT: re: personal responsibility

"I will not let you off the hook so easy."

I'm not ON any hook. It's just your fly is still in
the bottle.

"Do you aknowledge the possibility of any kind or
degree of human self-determination, however small?
Yes or no?"

I believe in the self-determination of
desiring-production. Whether you want to call this
"human self-determination", is up to you. I do not
play your silly games of Bushite over-simplification.

"First, how in the hell would you know that this is
not my
stand as well?"

I can assume it is not your stand because it is
logically incompatible with your fetishistic
repetition of the trope of "responsibility", not to
mention the whole "slave/robot" cracked record, which
are incompatible with the position suggested. Of
course, I cannot know for certain that you aren't
grossly in self-contradiction, but I tend to assume
that thinking people AREN'T grossly in
self-contradiction most of the time. If the conscious
will only operates as "brakes", it follows that there
can be no responsibility either for the momentum which
is formed, or for the choice of direction; nor can
there be any free choice whatsoever. And the brakes
function can only stop, not create, so it could only
interfere with activity every so often or else the
result would be catatonia. (In any case, I suspect
the will-as-brakes theory is wrong too).

And in any case, there is NO reason why the existence
of a will, even an entirely free will, would logically
entail a reactive, repressive idea such as
"responsibility", which does NOT follow logically from
the existence of will, but is simply a particular way
of attempting to REPRESS this ostensible entity in the
aid of a certain kind of political project which takes
restriction, rather than enablement, to be the
function of social relations. Stirner for instance
believes in free will and is still an opponent of
responsibility.
