Justr a correction : http://www.socialismnow.org/index1.html is not the
webpg of WCPI (worker-communist party of Iraq), but of LWPI (Left
worker-communist party of Iraq), a small left split of the later (when I say
small, it's in regard of WCPI. LWPI is probably bigger than most of left
communist groups in the world). WCPI webpg is still http://www.wpiraq.net/
At this time, difference between between WPCI and LWPI are difficult to
perceive, as the split was mainly linked to the inner situation of the irani
WPI (http://www.wpiran.org) and split with WPI-Hekmatist
(http://www.hekmatist.com/), between wich there is a strong discussion on
the strategy for seizing power and establish the republic of worker councils
in Iran.
In Iraq, WCPI was born from the merge of several communist groups who
launched the 'shuras' (worker councils) insusurection in Kurdistan in march
1991, under the slogan 'nationalism is a shame for humanity". It is now the
major left organsiation in Iraq - even if smallest groups still exists
(among them, the Union of communist in Iraq).
The italian group Inchiesto Operaio (worker inquiry),active in the Fiat
Mirafiori factroy in Torino, is also strongly linked to WPIran. In France,
our group Solidarité Irak is also in strong relationship with WCPIraq and
has friendly links with all worker-communists organisations.
