Re: AUT: America Implodes

Well, I do find it significant that, despite all evidence to the contrary, at least half the population see a direct link between Saddam Hussein and 911.

However, I don't think it's as simple as the population being lied to. This logic has deeper cultural roots. I remember during the first Gulf War, a wrestler by the name of the Iron Sheik marching around the ring waving an Iraqi flag to the boos of the audience and then having his ass kicked repeatedly by the likes of Hulk Hogan and the Million Dollar Man.

The case against Iraq has been building for a long time and speaks a much more primordial language than "facts" and "lies" I think. It's at times like this that I reconsider the situationists.

It seems that this election speaks a deeper cultural language. It is interesting how clearly the lines were drawn between the Northeast-Midwest-Westcoast and the South-Middle America. It's like it wasn't even a question in most cases. There were only a few key "swing states". It's also interesting how clearly the lines were drawn between urban and rural areas.

Anyways, if you all in the US are interested, I could try to resurrect the underground railroad and smuggle you into Canada.
