AUT: the dearth of new ideas makes us wallow in our shame

hey all-

Maybe it's the beer or maybe I've just got forum fever but ... not to
dis at all, but it seems to me like the online reading/discussion
group thing has some definite big limits. I know, big news.

So, in addition to what's happening online ...

would anyone in north america be interested in an informal autonomist
encuentro of sorts (or more than one, whatever), just getting together
someplace for a weekend (or longer, I don't mind, I'm out of work!) to
try and be (anti)productive? My interests in regard to matters
autonomist at the moment are printed-word centered - reading and
discussing 'classic' texts, talking about documents circulating about
precarity, etc - so I'm thinking like a one off reading group or
presentaion and discussion or something, but I'm flexible.

I'd like to suggest Chicago as a location (cuz I'm broke and I live
here.) I have a comfy couch and an extra bed... I could also probably
con several kindhearted friends (some of whom are very good cooks)
into offering additional couch/floor space, and I could also probably
secure a small public space if we wanted to make it an open thing, or
we could just chat in my living room. Perhaps if we came up with an
official sounding name and official looking bulletin, maybe those of
you with institutional backing might be able to get your schools to
pay for your travel (and then you could donate a bit to defray costs
for others, sorta like a pyramid scheme...)

Anyway if this sounds worth pursuing, write me offlist.

Nate
