I can't be sure in all cases mind, but I'm
guessing it's same kinds of people who think
nothing of instrumentalising
anti-racism/anti-sexism in the noble defense of
the trotocracy's 'stewardship.'

I'm a bit surprised at the recourse to the motifs
of rigor, scholarship, pluralism though, given how
stupid and offensive that move is.  Then again,
given how stupid and offensive it is, I'm not
surprised that there's a premium on presenting
oneself as scholarly, rigorous, etc.  Anyone who
wasn't so anxious about it wouldn't bother to
assert those kinds of demarcations between forms
of writing.
