Perhaps you should address your sarcasm to those people who demand
principled positions against the Terror of compulsory voting and so on and
then lecture their comrades about the nasty cops who would enforce it...

We very nearly occupied the university about three hours ago as part of the
higher education campaign. Loads of fun, but the police went medieval on us.
Hilarious follow up: after the  altercation with the police, the mob, under
guidance of - who the hell knows - ended up occupying the hall in which
graduations are made. There they sat down and  disrupted... the gaze of the
badly painted portraits of chancellors past. I got told off for talking out
of turn; it didn't occur to me there were turns. Then I noticed that under
the direction of - who now? - there was some sort of meeting on. The sort
that achieves not very much other than produce contact lists for - can't
remember. The anarchist kids started playing soccer. The best comment would
have to be that made by a Labor Party student who walzed into the meeting
and murmured to his comrade "they seem to have gotten a lot of our people
here - must be because they have a sound system." Oh, brings a tear to the
eye, student politics...
