By the way, I'm running an interview with Leo Panitch on my radio
show later today (5-6 PM NYC time, WBAI 99.5 FM and
<http://www.wbai.org>) on the topic of the American empire. Panitch
argues for a conception of empire that puts the U.S. as
unquestionably on the top, but still relies on the voluntary
incorporation of its junior partners. Not as seamless as H&N, but not
as rivalrous as Lenin either.
I'll have it up on my radio archive either late tonight or tomorrow
<http://www.leftbusinessobserver.com/Radio.html>.
