Hi Ben-
You said the following, among other things:
"the use of coded language is a self-defeating tactic
>(most activists instinctively sense the highly manipulative
>nature of this kind of pretentiousness) and represents a form of
>disguised passivity in the struggle of serious comrades against
>the political influence of liberal-labor politics."
Couldn't it also just be a corner-cutting laziness, as some folks' have eyes
that get tired of staring at the computer screen and/or limited time at the
computer? Yours is a mighty uncharitable interpretation to say the least.
Granted that using abbreviations is a bad idea in some contexts (like
technical terminology or over inflated language or allusions to certain
ideas/writings), but is it always indicative of malicious intent or
political failing? Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar...
best,
Nate
