AUT: unions against the war??
Herald, et al,
I can at mostly concur with with your last smaller
note, and i the issue here of the revolutionaries
social ralations with differing politics and trends
and mass public protests. The issue is much more
serious than just dealing with formalistic & politcally
correct descriptions of other outfits and individuals
we encounter (a la Laura's problem what she
may see as disparaging to use the generalized word,
"masses", etc.)
No Offense! but the due 'respect' to those others (masses!!) out there
that people coalesce and socialize with so briefly at mass
actions , it is the very props-agits work , debate, exchange of
opinions/ideas/journals , friendly discussions , heated exchange,that
the discourse in the terrain of others seeing communist alternatives
possibly for the first time in their lives, and for the communists
experience and learning what views- aspirations the others (non-
revolutionaries) in the motion hold so dearly themselves that does help
things mature and develop in the course of motion ,.
experience, study, etc & politically too- this human exchange/
collective brainwork itself shows real
'respect' that important, not the worry of overuse of one or two
pre-1900
popularized nouns.
point of correction /clarity -- in the USA , the lib-labs, churches, etc
are far
larger, well financed more slick in their deception, machiavellian than
the 'sect' hard lenino-trots stalinos are but they do piggyback some of
the
time here. In europe
i think the lib-lab role here is played there by the Soc Dem
parties/unions and the
Greens, maybe. , with the the lenino-stalino sects differing in having
the harmful
role too - backing up state capitalist solutions - promoting illusions in
Husseins hangman regime, etc.
Again my point , that communists must confront these real diferences OPENLY
and not tail behind or merge with just the refromism popular at the present
-
they must have a long view of developement/change for the future..
Neil .
