Scott,
I read the two articles. There is something wrong in England.
Bennet's article is full of assumptions a journalist in Italy could no more
put. Our media and political elite have learned (we, the movement, make them
learn) that class composition have changed and they can no more think with
obsolete cathegories. That is:
-the movement is made by different components
-differences are empowering not weakening the collective force
- "not in may name" does not mean only not to war, it means not to this
formal democracy; not to the capitalist foolish imperial policy; not to this
stupid left (in Italy and elsewhere). And we have made them learn it
- if you (English "revolutionists") go on thinking and writing, as it is in
the workers article, that the anti-war movement it is a *coalition* instead
of a collective subject, it will never become the political recomposition in
process of a new class composition (to put it in terms of class analysis)
and, by consequence, weakening the movement instead of empowering it.
- all this is a problem of hegemony, not of votes and formal democracy and
policy.
ciao laura
