How about an anti-war movement which includes the
Archbishop of Canterbury, French oil companies, Ken
Livingstone, and the leaders of the British Liberal
Party? That's what you've got at the moment, a Popular
Front. Some of the recent demos in NZ were led by
local *mayors*. These people will always work to quash
workers' action against the war. The anti-war mayor of
the city of Christchurch was actually instrumental in
defusing a planned major strike by nurses at the end
of 2001. Vietnam was defeated by direct action by
workers (esp the workers of Vietnam), not because it
attracted the odd stray mayor or capitalist. I guess
Laura is taking her anti-war lessons from Michael
Hardt.
