Re: AUT: Re: Palestione, Israel and other ghettoes

hi all

I wasn't planning to get involved in this particular iteration of one of our
standard debates but my name came up.

I assume the reason Chris conflates political and 'merely' military blocs
with sections of capital is because in practice they tend to be one and the
same. The best example of the futility of trying to make a military bloc
with capital is the Spanish Civil War. That great anarchist hero Durruti
said something like 'we don't defend the bourgeoisie but neither do we
attack them' and proceeded to march off to the front to fight Franco leaving
the Republican state (some of it managed by the CNT) safe in the rear to
repress the insurgent workers. The CNT's military bloc with the state
amounted to political support for it's destruction of the half-made
revolution.

I imagine the same would apply in Palestine. Arafat and the Palestinian
capitalists would surely prefer continued Israeli control to communist
revolution.

Well it really is WORLD REVOLUTION or the continuation of capital. Which is
not to say we should do nothing until the spontaneous worldwide uprising.

Tahir made an excellent point when he said we shouldn't organise our own
defeat by setting up new states. Helping the bourgeoisie organise itself
against us is always a game we will lose.

cheers
