AUT: News on the web - Kurasje update

Hey everyone,

The Council Communist Archive is irregularly, but still updated.

In the first half of this year it was mainly German stuff from the early 20'ies. But since summer it has been mostly English texts.

New for the Germanites is 'only' Otto Rühle's 1939-manuscript for the book 'Brauner und roter Faschismus' - a real peace for those who knows.

For the Anglo-Saxians there are many new and also rare documents:

Anton Pannekoek: On the G.I.C. (Holland) from 1947
In this article Pannekoek gives a short account on the the Group of International Communists in Holland stressing the importance of its major theoretical work on the Fundamental Principles of Communist Production and Distribution from 1930 and his own critique of Lenin as a Philosopher from 1938. The account gives no specific or biographical information on the GIC(H), but explains its major positions and general ways of working. Obviously this article is a promotion of his own writings, especially the soon coming work on the "Workers' Councils", which was published by the 'Southern Advocate of Workers Councils' (Australia) - sequentially from 1948 and as complete book in 1950.

Communistenbond Spartacus: "Circular letter - Our readers and friends" from 1947
Communistenbond Spartacus: "Workers' Councils" from 1947
Originally this Dutch group was formed as a split from the Trotskyist milieus, but turned more and more in Council Communist directions during the II. World War. Towards the end of the war the central members of the G.I.C.(Holland) joined the Communistenbond and made considerable influence on its further development. Communistenbond Spartacus is also known as the Spartacusbond or the Spartacus League of Holland. The Spartacusbond was the continuation of the G.I.C. and the formal organization to publish the original Dutch version of Pannekoeks "Workers Councils" in 1946.

Anton Pannekoek: "Workers' Councils" from 1950
This - one of the most important books on Council Communism - is now available on this site also. At the same time the Kurasje Archive presents the following notes and additional materials related to it:
- Notes on Pannekoek's "Workers' Councils"
- Pannekoek to J.A. Dawson - Letter from autumn 1946
- Pannekoek to J.A. Dawson - Letter from early 1947
- Pannekoek to J.A. Dawson - Letter from october 12, 1947
- J.A. Dawson: The Centenary of the 'Communist Manifesto', 1948

Most of this stuff has not been on the web before. And some of it has not been published very widely either.
