Er in Palestine and scattered throughout the world. I think the Aufheben
article (even if it did conclude with a utopian, ultra-leftist call for
'world revolution now') was quite clear about the proletarian nature of the
first intifada and the beginning of the second. BTW a friend of mine spent a
few weeks last year working for a Palestinian Authority newspaper before he
was expelled by Israel. He said that many 'ordinary' Palestinians told him
they thought the intifada should be like the first one with mass riots
rather than the current militarised mess. This at least is a rejection of
the statist model of warfare which the PA cannot possibly defeat Israel
with.
